COVID-19 UPDATE MARCH 30, 2020

Sportworks Customers,

Due to the rapidly evolving situation with the coronavirus in our region near Seattle, Washington, we are presently in the middle of a production stop of eight workdays. We expect to resume production on Monday, 6 April.

We have all front office functions running with most staff working remotely, as well as limited shipping and receiving. Our sales staff is fully available to help you by email and phone: sales@sportworks.com or 425-483-7000.

For those of you with orders impacted by the production stop, our sales team will be contacting you as soon as we are able with revised ship dates. In the interest of filling the most urgent orders first, we may be asking if you have additional flexibility in the date when you need to receive product from us. Regardless of whether or not any of your orders are impacted by our production stop, we sincerely appreciate your flexibility during this time.

Sportworks is allowed to operate as an essential business under the Washington State “Stay home, stay healthy” order, and we expect to resume production regardless of whether the order is extended beyond its current end date of 8 April. At present, all of our key suppliers are able to serve us, although some of our products may have longer lead times due to reduced production capacity at some of our suppliers.

Presently, about 75% of our vehicle manufacturer customers have begun, or about to begin, a two-week production stop. Most large transit agency customers are operating, while many smaller transit agencies are not. The landscape changed greatly every day last week, and as recently as last Thursday we had been planning to restart production a week earlier.

The Greater Seattle Area remains a hotspot for coronavirus. Sportworks is located less than five miles from the long term care facility in Kirkland, Washington where the first serious outbreak in our country occurred and resulted in several dozen fatalities. There are some signs that being the first geography with a significant number of cases will also result in us being among the first places to see a decrease. Nevertheless, the pressures to keep our employees at home during this period are immense, and we have taken the step of a production stop in the best interest of our employees, especially those who are at higher risk.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Eric Rayl

President Sportworks Northwest Inc.
