ten second bracket

The Ten Second Bracket™ (TSB) is a product resulting from a joint engineering effort between Sportworks and Romeo RIM, a leading manufacturer of energy absorbing bumpers. The goal was to develop a bracket with an integrated pivot plate that could be quickly and easily installed and removed from a vehicle. When removed, we wanted to ensure that the vehicle bumper retained its full energy-absorbing functionality. The TSB offers an integrated pivot plate and bumper bracket assembly that can be installed or removed in 10 seconds or less.

Following the success of our TSB for our standard racks, we have expanded our TSB product line by designing a TSB for our Apex bicycle racks. We have also worked with additional bumper manufacturers to increase the range of our TSB product line. The TSB requires no tools because it can be safely installed using hand-knobs.

Our TSBs are specific to Apex or Standard racks and can only be mounted on a compatible bumper. For more information about TSB/bumper compatibility, please contact our sales department here: sales@sportworks.com.

Elements Of A Bicycle Rack System

A Bicycle Rack System is made up of the following component. Each component is necessary to correctly mount and use our bicycle racks.

  1. Mounting Bracket

  2. Pivot Plate

  3. Bicycle Rack

* Our Ten Second Bracket (TSB) incorporates both a mounting bracket and a pivot plate into one product.

Mounting brackets do require bolt kits for installation.

How to Use

apex ten second bracket slot instructions

Apex TSB Step 1 - Insert Ten Second Bracket™ through slots and holes in a compatible bumper.

The TSB system uses a pre-loading concept that, with some assistance from gravity, securely engages the top slots of the bracket. This allows the unit to be vibration free and tight. Minimizing the movement of the bracket at the contact point ensures noiseless travel and reduces long-term wear and material fatigue.

Apex TSB Step 2 - Tighten the hand knob to secure the bolt into the threaded holes in the aluminum beam of the compatible bumper.

The knob is connected to a long bolt that fits through the mounting bracket and is threaded into the high strength aluminum back structure of the HELP® bumper. Once installed, a clevis pin inserts through a hole in the bracket to prevent the hand knob from turning. The TSB system provides a convenient and practical solution for towing, bus garage parking density issues, or seasonal use of Bike-Racks-for-Buses™.
